Everyone on the Lumen team is dedicated to what we value most: regenerative farming, high-quality fruit picked at perfect balance, and honest, additive-free winemaking. And fun! Having fun is important.

Will

Will Henry wears a lot of hats. (Either that or he just has problems focusing.) He worked on and off for twenty years for The Henry Wine Group, his family’s wine distribution company, while simultaneously working as a journalist, photographer, and founder of a non-profit, Save The Waves Coalition. Will now manages Lumen’s farming in their two vineyards, while also making the wines alongside Lane and Vic.

Vic

Vic’s love for wine stemmed from growing up in California’s Central Valley. Fascinated by the winemaking process, he pursued a Bachelor’s of Science in Enology at Fresno State. His first wine job was at a facility that used non-traditional methods to make port. Some of the best wines he tasted came from Santa Barbara County, which eventually led to his move here and role as a winemaker with mentorship from Lane Tanner.

Kali

Kali Kopley made an abrupt left turn in life when she shunned acceptance to law school to open a wine bar in North Lake Tahoe. A few years later she owned and operated five businesses in the Tahoe area. In 2016 Kali decided to relocate to Santa Barbara County and join her husband, Will, and to focus on the Lumen brand. She helps manage business strategy and national sales, and keeps Will from driving too fast.

Lane

We like to call Lane Tanner the ‘OG,’ the Original Girl. She was the first independent female winemaker in Santa Barbara County, and the first to dedicate her entire winery to Pinot Noir. To say she was ahead of her time is an understatement. There is nothing Lane enjoys more than making (and drinking) Pinot Noir from the Santa Maria Valley – in fact, she hardly drinks anything else. Except Champagne, that is. Lane does like her bubbles.

Anthony

We call Anthony Anselmi the barefoot sommelier, because of his love of the outdoors and disdain for closed-toe shoes After achieving the nearly impossible title of Master Sommelier in 2011, Anthony now teaches Deductive Tasting to new aspiring Master Sommeliers. His role as National Sales Manager for The Rare Wine Co. led him to his current path, managing national sales for a select number of California wineries, including Lumen.
